Thai Mueang Beach

Thai Mueang Beach, a natural beach along the Andaman Sea stretches for more than 14 kilometers, and the sea is as far as the eye can see. With a sea turtle as a symbol, It locates in Khao Lampi-Hat Thai Mueang National Park.

Hat Thai Mueang has been recognized as a 5-star beach by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment due to the integrity of the ecosystem’s natural beauty, calm and quiet, distractions, and not being traumatized by tourism.

In addition, the coastal area is home to sea turtles laying their eggs between November and March.

Visitors can also see cute wind crabs along the beach; another highlight is waiting for the sunset, which you should not miss.

The white sandy beach is part of the west coast plains, covered with large pine trees giving a shady atmosphere.

Along the beach, there is a beautiful walkway and many pavilions to sit and relax, making it a place where relax for anyone can come to admire.

The beachfront is 40 meters wide and slopes to the turquoise Andaman Sea; the straight-line sandy beach stretches from Amphoe Thai Mueang to the Khao Na Yak area. The water is clear, and you can swim; however, one should not go into the water during the monsoon season with solid sea waves.

In the east are mangrove forests and mangrove forests; and along the beach road, one could find fresh seafood restaurants, coffee shops, daily/monthly accommodations, and single houses for rent

During March of every year, there will be a sea turtle conservation tradition. The event will last about ten days, with activities to release turtles into the sea at Thai Mueang Beach, which the relevant agencies will jointly organize.

The turtle fair’s purpose is to raise awareness among villagers and youth in the area and to promote the conservation of spawning sites and sea turtles. In the event area, there will be an exhibition to educate about the life of sea turtles, local sports competitions, and performances of retro lifestyle from villagers in the Thai Mueang District, which shows on stage every night.

Furthermore, during the turtle laying season, officers will organize patrols to prevent any illegal digging for turtle eggs. There is also a team moving turtle eggs to a safe area for incubation, and after that, they will be released back into the sea.

You have not arrived yet if you come to the Thai Mueang District but haven’t visited Thai Mueang Beach.

Getting to Thai Mueang Beach

If coming from Phuket, head towards Khao Lak, and on the way, you will pass Khok Kloi town in Takua Thung District, then continue up north for about 15 kilometers to reach Thai Mueang District.

When you arrive the Thai Mueang town, turn left and go for another 2 kilometers to get to the Thai Muang beach area. You can also visit Khao Lampi-Hat Thai Mueang National Park, which will have to drive along the beach for another 5 kilometers.

Travelers can come to the beach all year round; the period when the weather is comfortable will be from December to April.
